Independent promotion & relegation
After each team had played every other team twice, each division was split in half. The top half played each other again, as did the bottom half, with all points counting towards the final total. No team in the top half at the time of the split could drop into the bottom half from then on, and vice versa.
Points system
A bonus point was awarded for bowling the opposition out.
